French Landscapes by Claude Mescouli

The works of Claude Mescouli were on exhibit April 16-19 at European Fine Art in Charlottesville, VA. This noted palette knife artist had his first international exhibit in Rabat, Morocco in 1960.  He is a member of the Salon des Artistes, France and has received many prestigious awards for his work.

Numerous critics have noted the influence of Cezanne for composition and the Fauvists for color in his works.  Claude Mescouli is rightly considered one of France's great contemporary artists. The French Art Critic, Bernard Leroux, described Mescouli's work as being "poetry radiating on canvas."
